Mr. Arnold Ray PorterFuneral services for Arnold Ray Porter, 71, of Longview, TX, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 30, 2015 at Victory Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Jimmy D. Butler officiating and Brother Sean Albertson as eulogist. Cremation services will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services. Arnold was born Sunday, February 27, 1944 in Longview, Texas to the parentage of L. D. and Arie Lee Thomas Porter. He departed this life on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Good Shepherd Medical Center, in Longview, Texas. He attended Longview Negro High School where he played baseball and was a member of the graduating Class of 1962.  After 20 years of service he retired from Marathon LeTourneau Company. Upon retirement he continued working for enjoyment by detailing cars. In his spare time he took part in watching baseball and fishing. In 1988, he married the former Yvetta Yvonne Butler and one child, Ramonda, was born to this union and completed his family along with Ron, Raymond, Angie and Reggie. He leaves to cherish his memory to his wife, Yvetta Porter of Longview; two daughters, Angie Porter and Ramonda Porter both of Longview; three sons and a daughter-in-law; Ron Porter of Longview; Raymond Porter of Addison, TX and Reggie and Monique Porter of Sachse, TX; stepdaughter, Mekdas Toliver of Arlington, TX, stepson, Kadiest Johnson of Baltimore, MD; two brothers and sisters-in-law, L. D. and Jeanette Porter of Longview; Bobby and Jessie Porter of Detroit, MI; nieces and nephews, Tripola Porter, Connie Porter, Kentra Porter and Bobby Porter, Jr.; ten grandchildren; father and stepmother-in-law, Leon, Jr. and Eleanor Butler of Grand Prairie, TX; sisters and brothers-in-law, Veronica Palmer of Kilgore, TX, Marie and Ron Burkes, and Darren and Carol Butler all of Longview, TX; Jason and Sarah Butler of San Diego, CA and Akisha Campbell of Grand Prairie, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends. His parents and brother, Curtis Melvin Porter all preceded him in death. Public viewing will be Thursday, October 29, 2015, starting at noon with family visitation from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Victory Funeral Services.
