for Winston Lewis Williams, 69, of Kilgore, will be held from 1:00 to 4 p.m., Saturday,
October 17, 2015 at Victory Funeral Services Chapel. Local Arrangements are
under the direction of Victory Funeral Services. Funeral services will be held
on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Mt.
Pisgah Missionary

with Rev. Robert E. Murphy officiating under the direction of Lott’s Mortuary
of Dallas. Winston was born February 26,
1946 in Kilgore, Texas to the parentage of Roosevelt, Sr. and
Chaney Elizabeth Templeton Williams, the grandson of Joella Alexander and
great-grandson of Sip Roe Alexander. He departed this life on Sunday, October
11, 2015 at Good Shepherd
Medical Center
in Longview, Texas. He
attended Fredonia Elementary School and was transferred to C. B.
Dansby High
School where he graduated in 1962.Winston
received a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1966 from Texas
College in Tyler, Texas.
After graduation from college he served in the U. S. Army from 1967 to 1969 and
is a veteran of the Vietnam War. His
work career concluded with retirement from the United States Postal Service
where he was employed from 1969 to 2001 and served as Postmaster for a short
period. He
was a dedicated leader at Mt. Pisgah Missionary
Baptist Church
in Dallas, Texas prior to returning to Kilgore. At his
demise he was serving as a deacon and organist at Fredonia
Baptist Church
in Kilgore, Texas.
He was an Elk and Master Mason having obtained the highest degree in the
Scottish Rite Order as an Inspector General 33rd Degree Mason. His parents, brothers, Lindsey
Williams, Billy Ray Williams, Roosevelt Williams and Sidney Williams, sisters,
Evelyn Williams Todd, Marie Williams Reddic and Jo Ella Williams Jones, brothers-in-law,
Elias Buard and Alex Jones, Sr. and sister-in-law, Caudy Williams all preceded
him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory,
his wife, Sandra Williams of Kilgore, TX; a brother, Carl Williams of Kilgore,
TX; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Cleo and Arthur Lee Mumphrey of Liberty
City, TX; Margaret Buard of Dallas, TX and Irish Gail Williams of Longview, TX;
two aunts, Grace Williams of Kilgore, TX and Rosie Lee Williams of Dallas, TX;
two brother-in-laws, Aubrey Todd of San Angelo, TX and J.T. Reddic of Overton,
TX; a sister-in-law, Wanda Kenney Williams of Kilgore, TX plus a host of other
relatives and friends. Viewing will begin
at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
