Mrs. Dorothy Earl Walker

services for Dorothy Earl Walker, 75, of Kilgore, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday,
October 26, 2013 at Victory Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. James Elder officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services. Dorothy
was born Monday, January 10, 1938 to Leon and Lillie Dorsey in Minden, Texas.
She departed this life on Monday, October 14, 2013 at the Willows Nursing Home. At
an early age she united with and was baptized at Lone Star Baptist Church.
She later served at Pleasant Home Baptist
Church under the pastorate of Rev.
Cleve Ryan and Macedonia
Baptist Church.
Upon relocating to Kilgore she served as pianist at several churches and
ultimately held membership at Noah’s Ark Church of God in Christ until her
demise. She attended Minden Public
Schools and worked many years as a medical assistant in area nursing homes.
She married Robert Walker, Sr.; although no children were born to this union
they added a son, Derrick. She
is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Ruby Cooper. Those
that remain to cherish her memory are her son, Derrick Walker and grandson,
Ezekiel Walker both of Kilgore, TX; sisters, Ruby Scott, Bera Eddington, Ethel
Morris, and Louise Gaines all of Vernon, TX: Amentha Tucker of Waco, TX; Lagail
Weaver of Wichita Fall, TX; a brother, Calvin Dorsey of Wichita Falls, TX; five step-daughters, Joy Walker, Joann
Coleman, Linda Lewis, Lola Manns and Debra Davis; two step-sons, Robert Walker,
Jr.and Edward Walker, a special sister-in-law, Charles Nora Hollis; special
caretakers, Felicia Palmer and Constance Strong and a host of nieces, nephews
and other relatives.
