Mrs. Mary Alice Lemming Memorial services for Mary
Alice Lemming, 82, of Longview,
will be at 6 p.m. on August 23, 2012 at 1229 S. High Street, Longview,
Texas with Rev. Kelton Wilson
officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services. Mary was born to the
parentage of Walter and Gladys Womble Hill on Thursday, April 17, 1930 in Winston
County, Mississippi. She departed this life on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at The
Willows Nursing Home in Kilgore,
Texas. Mary grew up in Mississippi and later relocated to Houston, Texas
in the mid 1960s and ultimately moved to the Longview/Kilgore area in the early
1970s. She served three years in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1959 as an Airman Second Class.Mary was employed at BB Answering Service as a telephone operator for 35 years. Upon retirement she enjoyed spending time quilting, cooking for her family and friends, also being with all her animals and dearest puppy, Prissy.Her parents and a sister, Martha Carrell all preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her
memory, a son and daughter-in-law, James and Cindy Lemming of Gladewater,
TX and a daughter and son-in-law, Renee and
Tony Jones of Longview, TX;
a brother, Don “Buddy” Hill and wife Ruth of Rockford, Illinois;
three grandchildren, Stephanie Young and husband Chris of Henderson, TX, Jake Lemming of Gladewater, TX and Carrie Wilson of Henderson, TX; and three great-grandchildren,
Olivia Kuykendall of Henderson, TX, Emori Lemming of Gladewater, TX and Bailey Young of Henderson, TX; best friend and dog, Prissy and a host of other relatives and friends.
